This Weekend at LACMA

Families can join a one-day workshop on Saturday morning at 10 am with contemporary artists Kelly Barrie and Sherin Guirguis, along with their son Aedan. Family Dynamic will introduce families to photosensitive emulsion, stencil work, and more. Workshop leader Guirguis's work is currently on view in Islamic Art Now, Part 2: Contemporary Art of the Middle East.

Cellist Jonathan Dormand and pianist Marisa Gupta come to campus for Sundays Live, performing Falla: Suite Populaire Espagnol, Neuburger: Souffle sur les cendres, and Grieg: Sonata in A minor, Opus 36. Dormand is a current Artist Diploma candidate at USC and Gupta is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Their performance begins at 6 pm in the Bing Theater.

Be sure to visit Reigning Men: Fashion in Menswear, 1715–2015, our latest special exhibition. Covering 300 years of men's fashion, Reigning Men showcases shifting cultural influences on menswear in 200 ensembles. Also on the third floor of BCAM is Robert Mapplethorpe: The Perfect Medium, a comprehensive collection of Mapplethorpe's work from art school to the end of the artist's life.

Tours this weekend include Latin American Art on Friday at 2 pm, Living for the Moment: Japanese Prints from the Barbara S. Bowman Collection on Saturday at 1 pm, and Highlights of the Museum: Ancient to Modern on Sunday at 12 pm.
