Whether your first weeks back in school were exhilarating or exhausting, take time to unwind this weekend at LACMA.

Join legendary saxophonist Azar Lawrence as he graces the stage for Jazz at LACMA on Friday evening. The museum is open until 8 pm on Fridays, which gives you plenty of time to explore the galleries before kicking back on the BP Grand Entrance for some music.

Wander through Agnes Martin one last time before it closes on Sunday. Her subtle and sublime works establish a spiritual, geometric, and spatial language through mesmerizing grids and calming striped canvases. Feel your relaxation grow as you slowly walk around the exhibition and trace the breadth of the artist’s practice.

Find your way into the Resnick Pavilion, where The Serial Impulse at Gemini G.E.L. will open on Sunday. Since 1966, the renowned Los Angeles print workshop Gemini G.E.L. has had a vital and innovative impact in fine art printmaking. This exhibition celebrates 50 years of Gemini with print series by Roy Lichtenstein, Jasper Johns, Frank Stella, Robert Rauschenberg, and more.

Sunday night, Pianist Tomomi Sato will perform in the Bing Theater. Sato won the Sundays Live Audition and is currently pursuing a master of music degree in piano performance at University of Southern California Thornton School of Music under the tutelage of Bernadene Blaha.

Take time to dig deeper through docent-led tours around the museum. All tours are free with general admission, and will definitely give you more insight on the artworks at LACMA.
