Happy Labor Day weekend! Relax and enjoy the holiday at LACMA with events and exhibitions you won't want to miss. Visit Between the Lines: Typography in LACMA’s Collection, on view through Monday, September 2. This exhibition explores how the selection, organization, and placement of letterforms in a work of graphic design impacts how a viewer interprets the text. Featured designers include Charles and Ray Eames, April Greiman, Corita Kent, and more! Also, make sure to visit LACMA’s Modern art collection, showcasing the Lazarof Collection and highlights of the museum's Modern art holdings, before the galleries close on Monday, September 2. The Modern art galleries will reopen in BCAM, Level 3, in newly designed spaces in 2020.

On Friday, August 30 from 12 to 3 pm, bring the whole family to the final Art Days of Summer—Family Workshop! Join us for free, outdoor art activities open to participants of all ages—from toddlers to seniors. Stay until 6 pm to experience Jazz at LACMA and listen to the vocal acrobatics, innovative orchestrations, and commanding stage presence of acapella group m-pact.

On Saturday, August 31 at 5 pm, bring your picnic baskets and get ready to enjoy some Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Cumbia, and more, performed by Yamila Guerra at the final Latin Sounds of the year! At 7:30 and 8:30 pm, LACMA members get the unique opportunity to experience the exhibition The Allure of Matter: Material Art from China through an aromatic tour led by The Institute for Art and Olfaction (IAO).

Lastly, on Sunday, September 1 from 12:30 to 3:30 pm, bring your family and friends to Andell Family Sundays—Chinese Art Now, where you can make your own art with unconventional materials like the innovative and playful work featured in the current exhibition of contemporary Chinese art, The Allure of Matter: Material Art from China. We hope to see you soon!
