This Weekend at LACMA

Brighten up your holidays this weekend with Lights on at LACMA, a holiday lounge with lights, music, art-making activities, and more. From Saturday, December 28 to Sunday, January 5 during public hours, LACMA welcomes you to gather for a special light display, music, and a limited-time-only menu of hot cocoas, ciders, and churros at the C+M coffee bar. As a special treat, Metropolis II by Chris Burden—a favorite of kids of all ages—will be in action every day of the holiday season! At 3 pm, relax and enjoy a special DJ set in the heated and covered outdoor lounge overlooking the famous Urban Light sculpture. Then at 5 pm, the lights of Urban Light turn on! You won't want to miss this only-in-L.A. moment.

On Friday, December 27 at 2 pm, join us for a special American Sign Language (ASL) edition of Story Time for children and families of all ages! Education staff will read along with an ASL signer and participants will have an opportunity to learn a few signs at the end of story time. Also, participate in our Pop-up Art-making Activities in the Galleries, activated all weekend long from 11 am–5 pm. Simply stop by the Family Welcome Table on the Smidt Welcome Plaza each time you visit to find out where we are.

Lastly, on Sunday, December 29 at 6 pm, continue the celebration of Beethoven's 250th anniversary with an outstanding performance by The Hollywood Piano Trio at Sundays Live, located off-site at St. James' in-the-City at 3903 Wilshire Blvd. We hope you have a wonderful holiday season filled with art and cheer. See you soon!
