This Week at LACMA

November 19, 2023

Recently acquired by LACMA, El Chavez Ravine is a monument to a disturbing chapter in L.A. history and symbolizes struggles across the country about affordable housing, eminent domain, gentrification, and discrimination. The work draws from the style and history of Mexican and American muralism and Chicano car culture.

Please note that LACMA will be closed on Thursday, November 23, 2023.
