This Week at LACMA

January 7, 2024

Woven Histories: Textiles and Modern Abstraction traces how, when, and why abstract art intersected with woven textiles (and such pre-loom technologies as basketry, knotting, and netting) over the past century.

Visit this week and join talks presented in conjunction with the exhibition. On Monday, January 8, Interwoven Identities will explore queer and feminist revisions of craft and on Friday, January 12, during In Conversation: Woven Histories, experts will discuss how textiles and weaving technologies on an architectural scale engage processes and concepts central to the exhibition.
