Imagining Black Diasporas: 21st-Century Art and Poetics, which opens this Sunday, December 15, finds aesthetic connections among 60 artists working in Africa, Europe, and the Americas. Contemporary poets also contributed original work to the catalogue, extending the historical use of poetry in Pan-African discourse. Through an analysis of Black artists’ aesthetic choices, Imagining Black Diasporas reveals their insights about existence. Remember, members see it first: Member Previews for the exhibition are Thursday, December 12, through Saturday, December 14.
