Imagining Black Diasporas: 21st-Century Art and Poetics is now open! The exhibition and its catalogue are among the first to examine this most recent quarter century of production by Black artists. Nearly 70 works of painting, sculpture, photography, works on paper, and time-based media are organized into four themes: speech and silence, movement and transformation, imagination, and representation.
LACMA members can explore Imagining Black Diasporas and all other exhibitions without the crowds during our Holiday Member Monday on December 16. Bring along a couple of friends for free and enjoy after-hours access to the galleries, a festive photo booth, a family-friendly art-making workshop, holiday drink specials, giveaways, and more!
