Earth Day is Tuesday, April 22, so this week is the perfect time to visit Nature on Notice: Contemporary Art and Ecology at Charles White Elementary School. In the exhibition, more than 20 lens-based artists from around the globe engage in a visual dialogue about the “new nature” we are living in, illuminating the need for both artistic and scientific imagination to counter threats to our ecology.
Nature on Notice is open this week on Saturday, April 26. If you visit, you can also take part in Earth Edition: Eco Chat and Climate Community Mixer, when artists, activists, and community leaders will share strategies to inspire collective dreaming and reframe our climate future. You can also join Eco-Expressions with artist-in-residence Michele Lorusso, who will lead drop-in activities and hands-on art-making workshops for all ages inspired by the exhibition.
