This Week at LACMA

January 12, 2026

Third Weekends at LACMA kicks off this month with four days of events from Thursday, January 15, through Sunday, January 18, with an exciting lineup of tours, workshops, and talks. Inspired by our encyclopedic collection and special exhibitions, you're sure to find something for every art and culture lover all in one place.

The line-up includes the second session of The Genesis Talks, which bring LACMA's CEO and Wallis Annenberg Director Michael Govan together with some of the most influential artists, architects, and cultural leaders shaping how we see and experience art today. On Friday, January 16, featuring Darren Walker and Los Angeles artist Mark Bradford will join Govan to share insights on the museum as a community hub.

On Saturday, January 17, curators Leah Lehmbeck and David Bardeen will provide an insider's look at the exhibition Collecting Impressionism at LACMA at Impressing L.A.: How LACMA Collected Its First Masterpieces.

Also be sure to catch BLKNWS: Terms & Conditions (2025) on Sunday, January 18, a genre-bending documentary adapted from Kahlil Joseph’s renowned video art installation. Following the screening, a panel including Joseph and collaborators will discuss the filmmaking process and editorial power of BLKNWS.
