This Week at LACMA

May 11, 2026

The David Geffen Galleries opened last week and we were glad to celebrate with so many visitors. We invite you to come experience LACMA’s new home for its permanent collection, designed by architect Peter Zumthor to allow light and shadow to work in dialogue. No two visits are alike as the building responds to the weather, season, and time of day.

Plan your vist to LACMA and learn about the soundslight, and landscapes of the Geffen Galleries during a three-part series co-presented with AIA Los Angeles. And on Sunday, May 17, hear from artist Todd Gray about his newly commissioned work for LACMA, Octavia’s Gaze, as well as his public art projects across Los Angeles.

Please note, on Tuesday, May 12, LACMA will close at 2 pm for a private event. On Wednesday, May 13, LACMA's campus will be closed to the public.
