Fashioning Chinese Women: Empire to Modernity is now open! The exhibition traces a century of transformation through more than 70 exquisite ensembles from Shanghai, Hong Kong, and America, charting the evolution of Chinese women’s dress from loose-fitting embroidered robes of the late Qing Dynasty to the sleek silhouettes of 1930s qipao and the globally iconic cheongsam of the 1960s.
This week, on Friday, June 26, is the last of this season's Visible and Vibrant: LGBTQ+ Artists in LACMA’s Collection tour. Visit before Pride Month ends to join this special program that celebrates LGBTQ+ artists in the permanent collection, exploring how personal experiences shaped artworks on view in the Modern Art Galleries.
