This Week at LACMA

January 5, 2026

It's the last chance to see Now Showing: Youssef Nabil’s I Saved My Belly Dancer before it closes on Sunday, January 11! Designed to evoke the type of mid-century cinema where the films that inspired Nabil’s art were shown, this exhibition showcases the artist’s 2015 video I Saved My Belly Dancer and features 11 related photographs that parallel the filmic storyline, along with contemporaneous Egyptian film posters.

Also be sure to catch How Austria Came to America on Sunday, January 11, a screening of the documentaries Transatlantic Tastemaker: Otto Kallir and Austrian Modernism and Fioretta followed by a conversation with Jane Kallir (granddaughter of Otto Kallir) and E. Randol Schoenberg, moderated by curator Paul Holdergräber, at the Museum of Tolerance. The program is presented in conjunction with Austrian Expressionism and Otto Kallir, now on view in LACMA's Modern Art Galleries.

Looking ahead, you can plan your visit during January's Third Weekend at LACMA. On the third weekend of each month, we invite visitors to explore art, culture, and community with a full schedule of events and programs.
