This Week at LACMA

September 8, 2024

The landmark regional event PST ART: Art & Science Collide explores the intersections of art and science, both past and present. As part of the Getty-led initiative, We Live in Painting: The Nature of Color in Mesoamerican Art, which opens Sunday, September 15, explores the science, art, and cosmology of color in Mesoamerica. This exhibition follows two interconnected lines of inquiry—technical and material analyses, and Indigenous conceptions of art and image—to reach the full richness of color at the core of Mesoamerican worldviews. For more information about PST ART: Art & Science Collide, visit their website.

Remember, members see exhibitions first! Member Previews for We Live in Painting take place Thursday, September 12, through Saturday, September 14. Not a member? Join now.

Also this week, don't miss Jazz at LACMA, our free outdoor concerts that take place Friday evenings from May through October. On Friday, September 13, enjoy the sounds of pianist and producer Jamael Dean while enjoying the weather on LACMA's campus.
