This Week at LACMA

September 13, 2024

We Live in Painting: The Nature of Color in Mesoamerican Art, which explores the science, art, and cosmology of color in Mesoamerica, is now open! See the exhibition and learn how histories of colonialism and industrialization in the “color-averse” West have minimized the deep significance of color in the Indigenous Americas.

On Monday, September 16, you can get a look at We Live in Painting from home at Mindful Monday, explore works from the exhibition, and share observations and reflections with other participants.

On Wednesday, September 18, check out our current exhibitions at a Night Out at LACMA, when you can discover the museum after hours while enjoying sunset drinks and live music. We hope to see you at this free evening celebrating all our art on view.
