This Week at LACMA

May 25, 2025

We Live in Painting: The Nature of Color in Mesoamerican Art explores the science, art, and cosmology of color in Mesoamerica, following interconnected lines of inquiry to reach the full richness of color at the core of Mesoamerican worldviews.

On Saturday, May 31, taking inspiration from the exhibition, chef Pyet DeSpain will lead a Cooking with LACMA session at Flavors from Afar and craft a special dinner rooted in the Indigenous planting method known as the Three Sisters. Guests will also enjoy a special presentation by exhibition co-curator Alyce de Carteret.
