This Week at LACMA

June 16, 2025

Nature on Notice: Contemporary Art and Ecology, on view at Charles White Elementary School on Saturdays through August 2, presents the work of more than 20 artists from around the globe engage in a visual dialogue about the “new nature” we are living in. Alongside the exhibition, artist in residence Michele Lorusso’s installation, Dispositivo II and Dispositivo III (2024), asks viewers to take a seat, reflect on current and future climate balance, and to write a postcard to their future selves. The postcards are to be dropped into a mailbox that acts as a time capsule and years later will be delivered to the letter writers.

This Saturday, June 21, you'll find several events at and near the exhibition. Drop by the Levitt Pavilion and LACMA Summer Art Hop for drop-in art-making activities for all ages, followed by the opening performance of the Levitt Pavilion Los Angeles concert series in MacArthur Park, which will also host a Classical Around Town performance. As usual, you can also join the Eco-Expressions workshops by Michele Lorusso.
