Hear from artist Zheng Chongbin this Friday, December 5, at a screening of his work Branches are Roots in the Sky, followed by a conversation with curator Susie Ferrell. The film, which explores topological variations in water and the etching of riverways through a landmass, forms a triptych with the two other video works in his exhibition Golden State.
Also being introduced this week is The Genesis Talks, which brings LACMA's CEO and Wallis Annenberg Director Michael Govan together with some of the most influential artists, architects, and cultural leaders shaping how we see and experience art today. Each conversation sparks bold ideas, explores pressing questions, and connects LACMA's encyclopedic collection to the evolving role of museums in the 21st century. The inaugural talk this Thursday, December 4, will feature artist Jeff Koons, whose Split-Rocker (2000) was recently acquired by LACMA, reflecting on how monumental outdoor works activate public space and inspire new ways of seeing.
