This past weekend, the museum hosted nearly one thousand stylish guests at the DAPPER DAY + LACMA Swinging Soirée. The well-dressed crowd came from all over L.A. County and beyond—from Anaheim to Riverside, Santa Clarita to San Diego.
This was LACMA’s fourth annual event in partnership with DAPPER DAY® Events, which celebrates stepping out in style. The Swinging Soirée was held in the Ahmanson Building after museum hours from 7 to 10 pm. The evening event was centered around LACMA’s Modern and European Art collections.
This unique opportunity for the public to enjoy the works on view precedes upcoming closures; the European Art galleries on Level 3 of the Ahmanson Building close this Sunday, February 3, and the Modern Art galleries close this summer.
The Swinging Soirée was quite the scene with tunes by DJ Professor Watson, a lively dance floor, buzzing lounge, and galleries full of dapper folks. For some, it was their first visit to LACMA, while others have been to each and every DAPPER DAY event we’ve hosted at the museum.
Events like these introduce LACMA to new visitors and add a fun and stylish twist for regular museum-goers.

Don’t miss your chance to bid adieu to the European galleries this week!
