Hey, Artists: Submit Your Proposal for a Art + Technology Lab Grant!

December 17, 2014
Amy Heibel , VP, Technology and Digital Media

It's that time of year again! Sure it's the holiday season, but 'tis also the season for Art + Technology Lab grant applications. We're very pleased to issue our second annual call for proposals from artists interested in working with technology in their practice, with financial and in-kind support from LACMA and our panel of advisors, including NVIDIA, DAQRI, Accenture, as well as SpaceX, Google, Gensler, and independent advisors from UC Berkeley, JPL, and our own curatorial staff.

Applicants needn't have extensive experience working with technology in their practice, and we aren't looking for projects that engage any particular technologies. Rather, we're looking for projects that explore meaningful ideas related to the intersection of science, technology and culture, and for projects that offer opportunities for the public to witness work in progress and learn from artistic experimentation and trial and error. Funding is dispersed over the course of 12 months beginning in April 2015.

Both artists and collectives are invited to apply. The applications are due February 16, 2015. Questions? Contact us at lab@lacma.org.
