Take a docent-led tour this weekend at LACMA!

Docents at LACMA are guides and educators who lead visitors on an exploration of diverse and engaging topics. They provide tours of our encyclopedic collection or a focused look at one artwork or exhibition.

This weekend, join a tour to explore images of love and war in French art, African masks in The Inner Eye, or ancient metalwork techniques in Polished to Perfection. See the calendar for a complete list of tours.

If tours aren’t your thing, take a quiet walk through the Pavilion of Japanese Art and find yourself in a state of tranquility. This building features birdlike, sculptural elements and is illuminated almost entirely by natural light.

Inside, explore the Bushell Netsuke collection for a number of small-scale sculptural objects. And, if zen is what you’re after, don’t miss A Walk in Nature for paintings of deities finding space for meditation and joy within the setting of a garden.

Our music series continues this weekend with Grant Geissman on Friday, Frances Livings’ Ipanema Lounge on Saturday, and Trio Céleste on Sunday. Enjoy these free concerts featuring leading international and local ensembles in jazz, Latin, and classical music.

And don't miss The Inner Eye: Vision and Transcendence in African Arts, closing Sunday, July 9!
