This weekend at LACMA, we welcome you to visit a special installation in our Ahmanson Building. In the first floor lobby, explore a selection of breathtaking photographs from the film ROMA by writer, director, and cinematographer Alfonso Cuarón. These photographs, taken in 2016–17 by Carlos Somonte, consist of pigmented ink prints on Hahnemüle Photo Rag Baryta paper made by The Lapis Press in 2018. They strikingly capture moments taken during the filming of ROMA, a film that chronicles a tumultuous year in the life of a middle-class family in Mexico City in the early 1970s. These evocative images will only be on view through Tuesday, February 26, 2019.

On Friday, February 22 at 2 pm, bring the children in your life to Story Time in the Galleries and let their imaginations run wild as they hear imaginative tales in the Korean Art galleries. Then on Saturday, February 23 at 2 pm join us for a special Artists on Art series with artist Analia Saban. She will select artwork from LACMA's Photography and Prints & Drawings collections to display and discuss how they relate to her own art practice. Saban's work uses medium as the subject and experiments with traditional art categorization. She uses technology and technique to dissect structure and explore the process of art-making. Learn more about this remarkable artist and her practice at this free event.

On Sunday, February 24, at 12:30 pm, bring your friends and family to Andell Family Sundays—American Visionaries, the last event of the month with art workshops related to the exhibition Outliers and American Vanguard Art, on view through March 17. Then at 6 pm, come listen to the beautiful musical renderings of pianist Elizabeth Dorman at Sundays Live. Lastly, at 7:30 pm, LACMA members get exclusive after-hours access to Improv Comedy at the Museum. Museum educators and improvisational entertainers MuseumProv will take members through To Rome and Back in a highly original interactive performance that looks to the exhibition as inspiration for fast-paced, off-the-cuff comedy.
