It’s that time of year: Jazz at LACMA is kicking off its 31st season this Friday evening, and we’re pleased to announce that the program is back in full force with a return to open seating and picnicking on the grounds.
Jazz at LACMA is a celebration of L.A.’s finest jazz musicians. These free concerts are presented at LACMA, outdoors on the Smidt Welcome Plaza, on Friday evenings from April to November.
Our first event of the 2022 season on Friday, April 29, presents ELEW featuring Georgia Anne Muldrow. Known for his physical playing, ELEW's distinctive style has helped him amass a large following of fans, including Barack and Michelle Obama, for whom he has played at the White House. ELEW has also performed as part of the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra along with Cassandra Wilson, Elvin Jones, and Roy Hargrove.
Other upcoming performances this season will include the Louis Van Taylor Quintet, the Sam Hirsh Trio, MFUO with Jacques Lesure & Marvin “Smitty” Smith, and other jazz greats.
RSVP here for a reminder email for the ELEW featuring Georgia Anne Muldrow performance on Friday, 29 April, at 6 pm, or see the schedule list of this season’s Jazz at LACMA performances here.
