This Saturday at LACMA, get an in-depth look at Reigning Men: Fashion in Menswear, 1715–2015 with an introductory lecture that provides context to the history of men’s fashion. Follow the evolution of style from the opulent Macaroni of the 18th century, to the refined and exquisitely tailored suits worn by the 19th century dandy, to the colorful styles of 1960s London, and, finally, to the ultra-chic skinny suits worn today.

Also on Saturday, LACMA Local members will explore Royal Hawaiian Featherwork before taking a hula dance workshop taught by Lilinoe Kaio, a hula practitioner of over 35 years and the hula teacher of Halau o Lilinoe a me Na Pua Me Kealoha—a hula school based in Carson, California. All Locals will learn basic movements and one full song in the span of two hours. No professional dance experience is required! 

Celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Afro-Cuban Jazz Project on Saturday at Hancock Park. The group has performed at major venues and festivals all across the country and their album Lucumi is considered to be in the top 100 jazz recordings of all time.
