This weekend at LACMA we are celebrating the Veterans in the Arts and Humanities Day on Sunday, November 4, at 11:30 am. Come celebrate the creative contributions of military veterans by viewing a series of compelling short films created in the Veterans Make Movies program. Also, in honor of Veterans in the Arts and Humanities Day in Los Angeles County, veterans and their guests receive free admission to the museum all day.
On Sunday, November 4, at 12:30 pm, Andell Family Sundays rolls out its November series of fun-filled activities with Rome If You Want To. The program invites you to take a family friendly tour of the exhibition To Rome and Back: Individualism and Authority in Art, 1500–1800 and get inspired to make art in the workshops.
On Friday, November 2, from 3–8 pm and Sunday, November 4, from 3–7 pm, drop by the Art + Technology Lab in the Art of the Americas Building, Level 1 and participate in 2017 Art + Technology Lab grant recipient Julia Christensen's project, Upgrade Available, which examines how upgrade culture affects our personal electronics and archives, our institutions, and space travel. Visitors will have a chance to discuss ideas with her about art, technology, space travel, and the future.
Music-wise you won't want to miss this Sundays Live presentation of Young Musicians Foundation Musical Encounters Chamber Music Series, featuring Splntrd Wood Cello Trio and Samba de Duas & Guests.
Please note that on Saturday, November 3, the Resnick Pavilion, BCAM, the Smidt Welcome Plaza Ticket Office, Ray's and Stark Bar, and the Pritzker Parking Garage will be closed all day and all remaining galleries will close at 3 pm. Visit our website and plan your visit accordingly.
