Polish up your storytelling skills this Saturday in a creative writing workshop inspired by the exhibition Sarah Charlesworth: Doubleworld. Join writer Karen Holden as she guides the creative process.

Saturday night, enjoy a special concert with Chicano singer Chris Montez and DJ & documentarian Melissa "Lil Smiley" Dueñas. A discussion will follow with Dueñas, Montez, and artist Vincent Ramos, focusing on the Los Angeles Chicano music scene of the ‘70s and '80s.

On Sunday, January 28, LACMA will participate in SoCal Museums Free-for-All Day. Over 30 museums—presenting art, cultural heritage, natural history, and science—will open their doors and invite visitors to attend their museums free of charge.

At LACMA, each visitor will receive a special-edition temporary tattoo to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Chris Burden’s Urban Light. For more on the legengary artist, read our post on Unframed.

Also on Sunday, sign up for the Museums of Miracle Mile Scavenger Hunt! It’s fun new way to see all neighboring museums. The winner will receive a Miracle Mile Deluxe “Staycation” with nights at Hotel Wilshire and Orlando Hotel, tickets to the El Rey, and gift cards to local businesses. The scavenger hunt is free and for all ages.

Plan your route to the museum. We encourage visitors to take Metro, use a ride-sharing service, or carpool, as LACMA parking lots will likely reach capacity early. Another incentive for you to use Metro: if you show your tap card at the ticket office, you'll receive a set of all five Urban Light tattoos!
